Are you new to Solon UMC?
We’re glad to tell you about the variety of opportunities for worship, learning, and service that take place at the Solon United Methodist Church. We are a community of believers who gather on the corner of N. West St. and W. North St. in Solon, Iowa. Our town is in the corridor between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. It is a place to grow roots, and our church, (SUMC) is where Christ’s seekers connect, worship, grow, and serve.
SUMC offers opportunities for people of all ages, and Sunday morning is a busy time. Worship services are at 8:00 & 10:15 AM. There are traditional chapel services where the Chancel Choir or Celebration Bells enhance worship. But we also have more informal services and music provided by the Praise Band. Our youth also take part in providing music: our Youth Bells perform on the 2nd Sunday, and our Sunday School and Children’s choir performs the 4th Sunday of each month. Try our services, and Sunday school to determine which worship experience feels right for you and your family.
What about our children?
One of the strengths of the Solon UMC is ministries with children and youth. We have a variety of opportunities to meet the needs of children from infants to high school age. They occur on Sunday morning and also on Wednesday afternoon and evening. For more information about these programs click here.
Where is SUMC?
The worship center and fellowship hall are located on the corner of N. West and W. North Streets. (Look for the church steeple). The Family Life Center is located just north and west of this intersection (Look for the large parking area). For a map to our campus click here.
How do I become a member?
